I see what you mean about the gearstick, it looks a bit high and a funny angle now. weird how a new dash changes things, i'm sure you'l sort that out easily tho.

Bloody computer needs a blast with the welder by the sound of it mate

right got fed up off seen that oddy gearstick , , so thought chuff it rip the lot out and move it all ,

then plated all the inner sides /front and rear up

then made a fresh gearstick mount

ground it up as i had to add a 1inch to nothing angle , otherwise it wouldnt have cleared the propshaft as i dont want to removeing this again

just need to add a small plate and slighty alter front cables
least remotes high enoegh

few shots of a rough fit ,

1st gear

2nd gear loads more clearance

getting there now ,

but as i removed gear selector ive now got to cut the handbrake out next and move that too ...more fun

bit more tunnel modifying was needed this after

thought might as well get the propshaft in and make it a bit more leval/central

as it would have meant removeing lots of things to re fit it at a later stadge

i wish , just an idea , im still trying to find a radiator to fit inside the slam pannel ,,really in need of one now , as the problem is finding one that is going to keep this dam engine cool when the boost comes in ,,,
main things to sort dam fuel and temp gauges/may have to fit aftermarket ones ,to save time , re do gearbox mount (make it a bit higher up) next on the go is the intercooler fit ,,
(ps ANYONE WHO HAS A BLACK REAR HALF MK1 GOLF/JETTA CARPET I NEED ASAP ..
i wouldnt go to cal myself a legend just a guy who likes to attempt silly ideas the homemade way

im sure the way that rad works is that there is a water flange, similar to that of the thermostat hosing on the waterpump of most mk1/mk2 golf engines. You may have to purchase the flange seperatlely?

I beliveve it is on the same side as the other flange, bolting up on the bottom side of the rad facing towards the opposite end if that makes sence?

Hey powernut, yeah both inlet and outlet are on the nearside on the Rado radiator but you will need a flange type thing that goes on top of the radiator for the top hose. Ive used one on my standard vr for ages but its too big now with the turbo conversion and the front mount intake.

Be aware the flange on the top of the rad sits like at least 5 cm up from the rad and this may stick into the slam panel and not let the bonnet shut.
